Indianapolis is the 12th largest city in the United States with a population of 818,014. Metropolitan Indianapolis includes a nine county area with a combined population of 1,461,684.

Often referred to as the "Crossroads of America," Indianapolis is intersected by more segments of interstate highway than any other metropolitan area: I-65,I-69,I-70,I-74,I-465.

Indianapolis stays at Eastern Standard Time year-round. Average temperatures are 40° in March, 75° in July, and 31° in December.

Indianapolis hosts the three largest single-day sporting events in the world: The Indianapolis 500, The Brickyard 400, and Pole Day for The Indianapolis 500.

Indianapolis is home for the largest nursing school and the second largest medical school in the U.S.: Indiana University Medical Center.

Indianapolis has the largest Kiwanis Club in the world.
